The applications listed below will be considered by the council’s plannig committee on 1 September 2010:

The council had no objections to 1, 2, 3, 4 and 8. On 5, the council wondered whether the proposed extension was the most appropriate design for what is one of the oldest buildings on Ruffa Lane. On 6, the council had no objections to change of us as long as the law and regulations to bats were adhered to. On 7, the council did not think enough information had been provided on who was going to use the converted building.
The applications listed below were considered by the council’s planning committee on 26 May 2010:
- 09/01370/FUL – amended details to erection of one four bedroom dwelling and two three bedroom semi-detached dwellings with parking on land to rear of 69 Westgate;
- 10/00435/REM – erection of a four bedroom agricultural worker’s dwelling with detached single garage at Lendales Farm, Kirby Misperton Road;
- 10/00389/MFUL – change of use of grassland to allow the siting of 14no. timber clad static holiday chalets with parking spaces, re-location of 1no. unit to form site wardens accommodation, formation of stone access road with timber bollard downlighting, formation of central wildlife pond, underground LPG tanks and refuse compound on land at OS Field 3011, Beansheaf Farm, Malton Road – amended details.
The committee had no objections to any of the applications in themselves; however, re application 3, the committee decided that the open countryside to the south of the town which contributed to the beauty of the Vale of Pickering should not be subject to any further chalet and caravan site development.

- 10/00177/HOUSE – erection of 0.3m high trellis on existing 2m high fence at Ashfield House, 36A Ruffa Lane;
- NY/2010/0199/73A – retention of Vic Hallam Unit 3115 at Lady Lumley’s School, Swainsea Lane.
The council had no objections to either of them; however, the council thinks that were the a prefabricated init has been used for several years in a school as a classroom and there is continued justification for its use, the county council should be making plans for the building of a permanent structure.
The applications listed below were considered by the council on 5 May 2010:
- 10/00376/FUL – erection of single storey extensions to form improved changing facilities and social areas and other developments at the Recreation Club, Mill Lane.
- 10/00448/OHL – erection of HV overhead line on wooden poles and dismantling of existing overhead line (revision to 07/00780/OHL supported 16 October 2007, Westgate Carr - NOW WITHDRAWN.
- 10/00411/HOUSE erection of a two-storey extension to side to include integral garage at Eastfield House, The Avenue, Eastgate.
The council had no objections to any of the three applications.

The council supported all the applications save f). The view was that the open countryside to the south of the town which contributed to the beauty of the Vale of Pickering should not be subject to any further chalet and caravan site development.

The only application about which members had concerns was no 4 where it was thought that the size of the proposed building might be too large for the site and irrespective of the size of the structure brick should be used in its construction.
